Revival of Petaluma's nightclub row
After the prohibition repeal in 1933, Hotel Petaluma's cocktail scene has lived a rich history. In 1938 The Shuckery was formerly a swanky tiki bar, the Lanai Lounge; it's decor adorned with south sea murals and hanging bananas was best known for its exotic rum cocktails. Mike Gilardi opened another lounge (picture left) boasting jazz, dancing, and mixology. In 1945, a complete remodel of our space took place deeming it, The Redwood Room.
